Key Performance Indicators

Key performance indicators (KPIs) provide you the information to determine if your organization is accomplishing its strategic goals. They measure your organization's performance against the critical objectives that drive your success and add the most value. Signs that your organization may need to implement or adjust KPIs include:

  • no continual improvements in process, costs, customer service or profitability;
  • lack of understanding of the true key performance drivers;
  • monthly management reporting package does not contain KPIs; and
  • employee performance appraisals do not include KPIs.
